One of Z’s many responsibilities as a Global Messenger for the Special Olympics is serving as an advocate for the disabled community. Z uses her voice and experiences to share her story with politicians and law-makers, seeking change and inspiring support for individuals with disabilities and their families.

While many passionate groups may align with a particular political party, Z and her mother work across the aisles to try and unite individuals with common goals of inclusion. Simyra has said, “We don’t care if you are on the Left Side or the Right Side, as long as you are on the side of good. We want to talk with you. We want to work with you.”
