Special Olympics

Z has been an athlete with Special Olympics Illinois since high school, competing (and winning!) in multiple athletic events. She also serves as a Global Messenger and Special Olympics Illinois Board of Director Member and advocate for other athletes.

Z has competed in a number of events with the Special Olympics including bowling, basketball (where she earned the nickname “Rebound Queen”), soccer, and track. She is a well-rounded athlete, committed to her teams and her success.

Global Messenger

As a Global Messenger for the Special Olympics, Z shares her story and her triumphs in a number of venues, encouraging organizations and policy makers to consider the importance of opportunities that allow individuals of different abilities to grow, learn, and follow their dreams–just as she has.
